Last month I talked about releasing old powerlessness, specifically in relation to writing my manuscript...

"I release," has been a mantra for me for the last few months... Literally throwing my arms up in the air on occasion.

Releasing is an every day, moment to moment process- but man, am I thankful.

Manuscript Updates

Despite all the releasing, I definitely hit a patch in June where I had to ask myself, "Am I not ready to write this story or do I just need support?"

The biggest frustration that arises in writing a novel, in my experience, is the loneliness, lack of discussion around getting support for yourself, and the socialization we all experience to just push through...

Sometimes a block, like writer's block, is there for a reason- and I am trying to get quicker at catching myself that the block is a sign to slow down, be compassionate, curious, or just step away, take a break. I don't have access right now and that's okay.

I'm grateful for realizing I need support- and seeking it out. I'm grateful to my friends & family, writers & non-writers, who heard me out last month <3

Wellness Tip for Cycle Breaking Writers

In our writing, we come up on some tender stuff. When you notice the process is feeling forced...

Talk it out with someone (writer or not) and/or

Give your manuscript a rest for at least a 1 week

In the grand scheme of things, I've found, 1 week won't hinder my manuscript as much as my mental & physical health by trying to force something that just won't come.

Wishing you well & resourced! Meet you here next month <3
