4 Lessons writing a fantasy novel is teaching me, including self care and self compassion, from Lindsay Leon, Mexican American Fantasy Novelist

Don't be so stubborn
Sometimes your plot hole is because you're refusing to let something be what it is... A character, a setting, a motivation, a drive... Don't be afraid to let go.
Take Care of yourself
Eat, sleep, hydrate, take a break, switch it up, do something else.
Stop & smell the roses
Be proud of how far you've come. Yes, I feel like I am writing for myself- but it is also a story that I need to tell, for myself, & if it's not fun, what is the point?
Stop asking for permission
There's a difference between due diligence, being responsible with the material, and talking yourself out of your own voice.
Conclusion: Let me know what you think!
